Notifications
Browser and phone notifications, what reaches your email and Inbox, a default reminder, a daily briefing and quiet hours.
Settings → Notifications decides what reaches you, and where. Email is for things you'll want a record of; push notifications pop up on your computer and phone; the Inbox and the bell keep everything. Changes save straight away.
Browser notifications
Get reminders and updates as notifications from your browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Brave and Safari — even when Daykite isn't open in a tab.
- Settings → Notifications → Browser notifications → Turn on (or Turn on on the invitation that appears the first time).
- Your browser asks whether Daykite may show notifications: choose Allow.
- Send a test to check it works.
Turn it on in each browser you use; signing out of a browser turns its notifications off. Clicking a notification opens the event, task or booking it's about.
- Blocked? If you chose Block, only the browser can undo it: click the icon left of the address bar → Site settings (Chrome, Edge) or Permissions (Firefox, Safari) → allow Notifications, then turn it on again.
- iPhone and iPad: Safari shows notifications only for web apps on the Home Screen — tap Share → Add to Home Screen, open Daykite from there, and turn it on. Or use the Daykite app.
- Not seeing them? Check your computer's own settings: on macOS, System Settings → Notifications → your browser; on Windows, Settings → System → Notifications. Do Not Disturb and Focus hide them too.
The Daykite app on your phone
The app asks whether it may send notifications after you sign in. Change your mind under Settings → Notifications → This phone in the app (or your phone's Settings → Daykite → Notifications). Test sends one to check it works.
What reaches you, and where
Each kind of notification has three switches: Email, Push — your phone and the browsers you turned notifications on in — and Inbox. A dash means that channel isn't offered for it. Push is on for every kind to begin with.

Reminders and briefing
- Default reminder — filled in on every new event (none for all-day events). 10 minutes before to begin with. Change it per event.
- Daily briefing — an email with the day's events, routines and tasks due, at the time you choose, in your time zone. Off to begin with.
Quiet hours
Quiet from and Quiet until — reminder emails aren't sent during these hours; they still land in your Inbox. (Push notifications follow your computer's and phone's own Do Not Disturb / Focus settings.) Anything starting in the next ten minutes still gets its email, so an early meeting isn't missed.
Also quiet during focus blocks — the same, while you're in a protected focus block.
