The assistant and your data
What the assistant sees, what's sent to an AI model, how long conversations are kept, and how to delete them.
What it can see
The assistant sees what you could see yourself in DayKite: your calendars, tasks, routines and automations, with the same privacy rules — an event from someone else's Space that you only see as busy reaches the assistant as busy too. From the Chrome extension it only sees page content you chose to share (see DayKite for Chrome).
When an AI model is used
Most requests never reach one. Quick actions and everyday requests — reading your calendar, finding free time, moving, cancelling, protecting time, adding tasks — are answered by DayKite's own rules.
Open-ended requests go to the AI model your DayKite server is set up with (daykite.com uses Groq). What's sent is the request, the last few messages of the conversation, what the assistant looked up to answer, and any page content you shared. Before anything is sent, passwords, API keys, tokens and card numbers are masked, and page text is cut to a fixed size.
How long it's kept
- Conversations: 90 days by default. Change it to 7, 30, 90 days or a year in Settings → Assistant.
- Page and email text you shared from the extension: removed after 7 days, whatever you choose.
- Clear history: in the assistant's History view, or Settings → Assistant → Delete history.
- Deleting your account deletes all of it.
Improving the assistant
Help improve DayKite AI in Settings → Assistant is off unless you turn it on. When it's on, conversations without page or email content may be used to improve the assistant. Data that came from Google is never used for that. Your 👍 and 👎 ratings are always kept with the conversation so problems can be fixed.
