How the time zone converter works
Times are converted with the IANA time zone database built into your browser — the same one phones and servers use — so daylight saving time is applied on the exact date you choose.
Each result shows the local date, the offset from UTC and a label: working hours (9:00–17:00 on a working day), early morning, evening, weekend or sleeping hours (22:00–07:00).
Weekends follow each country's working week, so Friday counts as a weekend day in Riyadh and Doha.
Examples
- 10:00 in New York on a Tuesday in September is 15:00 in London, 18:00 in Dubai and 00:00 on Wednesday in Sydney.
- 09:00 in London in January is 14:30 in Mumbai and 18:00 in Tokyo.
Good for
- Sending a meeting time to someone abroad
- Checking a webinar or launch time in several markets
- Calling family in another country at a sensible hour
Frequently asked questions
- Does it handle daylight saving time?
- Yes. Each conversion uses the rules in force on the date you pick, so a time in March or November is converted with the right offsets even when only one of the cities has changed its clocks.
- Why does a converted time show +1 or −1?
- The time falls on the next or the previous calendar day in that city. 10:00 on Tuesday in New York is already Wednesday in Sydney.
- What if I pick a time that doesn't exist?
- When clocks go forward an hour is skipped — 02:30 on the spring change in New York never happens. The converter uses the first real moment after the jump and says so.
- Can I share a conversion?
- Yes. The address updates as you change the inputs, so Copy link gives anyone the same conversion.
