Discord
Post to a Discord channel from any automation — reminders before events, new bookings, finished tasks.
Experimental. Integrations are still being tested. They may not run, or may give incomplete or wrong results — check anything important yourself, and tell us what goes wrong.
Add Daykite to a Discord server you manage, and any automation can post to its channels with a Post to Discord step.
Add to a server
Integrations → Discord → Add to a server, pick the server, and Authorize. You need Manage Server permission there. Daykite joins as a bot with two permissions only:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| View Channels | To list channels for you to choose from |
| Send Messages | To post |
It can't read messages, see members or manage anything.
Post from an automation
- In an automation, add Post to Discord (under Integrations).
- Channel: choose from the server's text and announcement channels.
- Message: what to say, with placeholders.
Nothing Daykite posts can ping anyone. @everyone, @here, roles and people are shown as plain text — Discord
itself switches mentions off for Daykite's messages — so a guest can't ping your whole server by typing it into a
booking form.
When a post fails
- Daykite's bot can't post in that channel: the channel's permissions leave the bot out. In Discord, let the Daykite role view the channel and send messages.
- That channel doesn't exist any more: choose another channel.
Disconnect
Disconnect removes the connection. If nobody else in Daykite uses the bot in that server, it leaves the server too.
