Google Tasks

Experimental. Integrations are still being tested. They may not run, or may give incomplete or wrong results — check anything important yourself, and tell us what goes wrong.

Connect Google Tasks and choose which of its lists come into Daykite. Each one lands in a list of your own, and stays in step: new tasks, renames, notes, due dates and ticks made in Google Tasks show up in Daykite within about ten minutes.

It needs Tasks switched on in Settings → Modules.

#Connect

Integrations → Google Tasks → Connect Google Tasks. Google asks for permission to see your tasks. Daykite can't change or delete anything in Google Tasks. If Google Calendar is already connected, this adds to the same connection.

#Choose lists

Choose lists on the Google Tasks card shows every list in Google Tasks.

1. Tick the lists you want.
2. For each, pick where it goes: one of your own Daykite lists, or New list named after it.
3. Save and import. The tasks arrive straight away.

#What comes across

• Finished tasks aren't brought in when you first connect, so years of old ticks don't arrive at once.
• Due dates are dates. Google Tasks doesn't share a due time with other apps, so neither does Daykite.
• Subtasks come in as ordinary tasks.
• It's one way for now. Edits you make in Daykite to an imported task are replaced the next time it changes in Google Tasks. Delete an imported task in Daykite and it stays deleted here.

Imported tasks work with automations like any other: a task is created and a task's due date is set fire for them. For example, a task's due date is set → create an event to block time for it.

#When something's wrong

The list shows the problem under its name:

• "… is no longer in Google Tasks, so it was switched off": the list was deleted over there. Its tasks stay in Daykite.
• "The Daykite list these tasks went into was deleted": choose another list and save.
