Time Blocking Planner

Add the hours you have, anything already fixed, and your tasks. The planner puts the most important work first, splits long tasks and leaves breathing room between blocks.

How the time blocking planner works

Your day is the hours you give it, minus anything fixed — a dentist appointment, a call.

Tasks are placed in order of priority, into the earliest free time. A task longer than your longest block is split, and a short break follows each block.

It's deterministic: the same list always gives the same plan, and anything that doesn't fit is listed with how much time it's short.

Examples

  • 09:00–17:00 with a dentist at 10:00: a 90-minute proposal goes 09:00–10:00 and 11:00–11:30, then a 2-hour API fix and 30 minutes of email after it.

Good for

  • Planning tomorrow the night before
  • Fitting deep work around meetings
  • Seeing whether today's list is realistic

Frequently asked questions

What is time blocking?
Giving each task its own slot on the calendar instead of keeping a to-do list. You decide when things happen, not just what.
What happens if my tasks don't fit?
The plan lists what's left over and by how much, so you can drop, shorten or move something.
