Docs › Getting started
Create your account
Sign up, confirm your email and set the two things a calendar can't guess.
Setting up takes about a minute: sign up with Google or with your email, then your name and time zone.
1. Sign up
With Google
- Go to daykite.com/sign-up and choose Continue with Google.
- Pick your Google account. Daykite gets your name, email address and profile photo — nothing else. Your email is already confirmed, so you skip step 2.
The same button on the sign-in page signs you back in. It only signs you in: your Google Calendar stays separate until you connect it.
With your email
- Go to daykite.com/sign-up.
- Enter your full name, email and a password of at least 12 characters. A short phrase you'll remember — "kites fly best in march" — is stronger than a jumble of symbols.
- Tick the box to agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy, then choose Create account.
Signing in with a Microsoft or Apple account isn't available.
2. Confirm your email
Daykite sends a six-digit code to the address you signed up with. Type it in (or paste it — all six boxes fill at once). The code lasts 15 minutes; if it has run out or never arrived, choose Send it again.
Typed the wrong address? Choose Change it on the same screen.
3. Two things, then your calendar
The last step asks for:
- Your name — how you appear to guests and people in your Spaces.
- Your time zone — Daykite guesses it from your browser. Every time you see is shown in this zone, and your booking page offers times from it.
Choose Open my calendar and you're in.
What's already set up for you
You don't need to configure anything else to start, but it helps to know what Daykite assumed:
| Setting | Starts as | Change it in |
|---|---|---|
| Working hours | Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00, with lunch 13:00–14:00 | Booking page → Availability |
| Spaces | One Personal Space | Spaces and privacy |
| Features | Calendar, Routines and Spaces on; Projects and Bookings off | Turn features on and off |
| Notifications | Email for invitations, bookings, assignments and mentions; the Inbox for everything | Notifications |
Working hours matter more than they look: Find a time only suggests times inside them, and your booking page only offers them.
Next steps
- Take a tour of the screen.
