How the business days calculator works

Every day in the range is checked: weekend days (you choose which) and holidays are left out, and what's left is business days. Both dates are counted unless you say otherwise.

Holiday sets are worked out from each country's rules, including substitute days when a holiday falls on a weekend. Each set says exactly what it covers — national holidays only, not regional ones.

You can also add your own holidays, like a company closure.

Examples

  • 1–30 September 2026 has 22 weekdays; with US holidays it's 21 business days (Labor Day is 7 September).
  • 5 business days after Friday 18 September 2026 is Friday 25 September.

Good for

  • Contract and invoice deadlines
  • Delivery and notice periods
  • Project timelines

Frequently asked questions

Are the start and end dates included?
Both are counted by default, because that's how most notice periods and deadlines are read. You can leave either out.
Which holidays are included?
National public holidays for the country you choose, with substitute days. States, provinces and regions have their own, so add those as custom holidays if they apply to you.
Can my weekend be Friday and Saturday?
Yes. Choose any days as the weekend.
