Stripe

Payments, subscriptions and invoices in Stripe start your Daykite automations.

Experimental. Integrations are still being tested. They may not run, or may give incomplete or wrong results — check anything important yourself, and tell us what goes wrong.

Connect Stripe and your automations can start when something happens to your money:

When For example
A payment is received Notify me, and add an onboarding task to the Clients project
A payment fails Email the customer with {customer.email} and set a follow-up task
A subscription starts Create a Dropbox folder named {customer.name} and book a kickoff call
A subscription changes Post to Slack when someone upgrades
A subscription ends A task to call {customer.name} before they go
An invoice is paid / its payment fails Tick off your own follow-up, or chase it

Placeholders: {stripe.event} (what happened), {stripe.amount} (like $120.00 or £50.00 a month), {customer.name}, {customer.email}, {stripe.description} and {stripe.link} (opens it in your Stripe Dashboard).

Connect

Integrations → Finance → Stripe → Connect opens Stripe, where you choose the account and approve Daykite's Stripe app. It asks only to read events, payments, customers, subscriptions and invoices — it can't charge, refund or change anything, and it never sees card numbers.

Then, in an automation, start with Something happens in Stripe and pick which kind.

Good to know

  • Stripe is checked every 5 minutes (Check now on the card checks straight away), so an automation starts a few minutes after the payment, not instantly.
  • Only what happens after you connect counts; earlier payments never start anything. Each event starts an automation once.
  • A subscription changes happens often — renewals and plan changes both count. Add an If step on {stripe.description} to narrow it down.
  • Test-mode connections work too, and show test mode on the card.
  • Disconnect stops Daykite reading your account. To remove the app completely, also uninstall it in Stripe under Settings → Installed apps.
