How the working hours calculator works

A day's hours are each shift's length minus its break. A week is that times your working days.

A month is a week × 52 ÷ 12 — the usual payroll average, not any particular month. A year is your working days × 52, minus any days off you enter.

Shifts can run past midnight, and working weeks aren't assumed: Sunday–Thursday and Monday–Saturday are one click away.

Examples

  • 09:00–17:30 with a 30-minute break, Monday–Friday: 8 h a day, 40 h a week, 173.3 h a month, 2,080 h a year.
  • Four 12-hour night shifts a week: 48 h a week.

Good for

  • Comparing job offers
  • Working out an hourly rate from a salary
